About this funding opportunity

Municipal electric utilities and rural electric cooperatives across New York State play a critical role in the areas they cover. The combined dynamics of a changing climate and the effects of decarbonization present a set of new operating considerations to continue to provide resilient and reliable services. Through RFP 6129, NYSERDA seeks to support the rapid decarbonization and increased resilience of municipal utilities and rural electric cooperatives through demonstrations of Net Zero/Deep Decarbonization Solutions. Project proposers may include one or more electric municipal utilities or rural electric cooperatives. Entities other than a municipal utility or rural cooperative may apply on their behalf, provided that the proposal includes a letter of commitment from at least one New York State municipal utility or rural cooperative partner.

Topic areas: Energy and Environment, Smart Cities, Circular Economy and Sustainability.
