Business Oregon was allocated American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Funds to assist various industries negatively affected by by the COVID-19 pandemic. These were executed in three phases that served three different set of applicants that were impacted by the pandemic. Small and Independent Community Movie Theaters Program, the Live Event Venue Operators and Producer/Presenters Program and the Live Event Support Industries Program were administered by Business Oregon, the state’s economic development agency.

Phase I: Small and Independent Community Movie Theater Program

Business Oregon was allocated $5 million in grant assistance through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Funds for the purpose of supporting small and independent community movie theaters negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Fifty-four awards were made to 70 theaters around the state with a base amount of $40,000 per theater. More information is available on the program's webpage.

ARPA Small and Independent Community Movie Theater Program Award Recipients Phase II: Live Event Venue Operators and Producer/Presenters Program

The Oregon legislature allocated Business Oregon $35 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Funds for the purpose of supporting live event venue operators and live event producers/presenters negatively impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency. This program received more than 360 applications, with 238 organizations receiving a total of $33.5 million. The award amount sizes were generally between $5,000 and $250,000, with operators of multiple venues able to receive up to $750,000. More information is available on the program's webpage.

ARPA Live Event Venue Operators and Producer/Presenters Program Award Recipients Phase III: Live Event Support Industries Program

The Oregon legislature allocated Business Oregon $10 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Funds for the purpose of supporting the live event support industry negatively impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency. This program received 344 applications, with 164 organizations receiving a total of $10 million. The award amount sizes were generally between $10,000 and $100,000.
