What is a Levee Project?
A planning project, development project, or other project that is directly related to and necessary for the construction, capital improvement, required inspections, levee certification, accreditation or repairs of levees, flood control embankments or flood control facilities. Who is Eligible?
Drainage districts organized under ORS Chapter 547, corporations or companies for drainage or flood control organized under ORS Chapter 554, and for-profit or nonprofit entities and individuals engaged in the ownership, construction, inspection, accreditation, certification or repair of levees. At least 60 percent of the total projects must occur in rural or distressed areas. How Does Funding Work?
The Levee Grant Program provides funding in the form of a grant. A grant may not be awarded from the fund unless the applicant pledges matching funds to the project of at least 20 percent of the amount of the grant.” What is the Application Process?
