Attention: The MyMEA Application Portal is CLOSED to new applications since April 15, 2026. The Fiscal Year 2027 program year is anticipated to launch this summer 2026. MEA will begin accepting new applications at that time. Further updates will be posted on this webpage. Existing applicants may login to the MyMEA portal to check the status of their application.
FY26 Program Status: Total funding requests have exceeded the full FY26 program budget of $2,500,000. MEA is diligently reviewing the existing queue and converting eligible projects from “requested” to “reserved” and then “disbursed” status. The application portal is now closed to new applications as MEA works to process current applications. Please continue to check back for regular updates on program status.
Fiscal Year 2027
Notice of Intent for Fiscal Year 2027: The Maryland Energy Administration is pleased to announce the intent to offer rebates to Maryland residential households for eligible costs incurred purchasing and/or installing eligible electric vehicle supply equipment, also referred to as charging stations. The rebate amount is 50% of eligible costs, with supporting documentation, up to $700 maximum.
Only Level 2 chargers will be eligible for a rebate. Applicants may apply for a rebate after the equipment has been acquired, installed, placed in operation, and paid in full.
Program Type: Rebate Program (No Upfront Reservation Required)
Target Audience: Residential households
Anticipated Funding Opportunity Announcement Issue Date: Summer 2026
Anticipated Application Deadline: 3:00 PM Eastern Time May 31, 2027 through the My MEA portal. The My MEA online application portal may close to new applications prior to the application deadline if the total budget requested exceeds the available program Budget.
Online Application Submission: Through the My MEA portal at https://mea.maryland.gov/
Online Application Portal Status: Closed to new applications.
Anticipated Program Budget: MEA anticipates up to $1.5 million will be available from the Strategic Energy Investment Fund (“SEIF”) for rebates awarded under this Program. The total amount may be more or less, at MEA’s discretion.
